Grown in the Vine Vale sub region of the Barossa t Grown in the Vine Vale sub region of the Barossa these 1896 vines, grown on alluvial granitic sandy soil, have produced a wine full of blueberries, black cherries, vanilla with a touch of graphite. Full bodied, yet restrained, the smooth seamless palate is primary fruit driven. Vine vale is more renowned for Grenache but when Shiraz takes the stage it’s elegant and refined. Complex nose with red cherry, red currants, dried Complex nose with red cherry, red currants, dried herbs and white pepper laced with cedar oak. Lovely textured palate with velvet tannins. Well balanced acid and alcohol produces a smooth integrated long finish. Youthful,  highly recommended in 7th edition Australian wine guide.
